my mind spiraled. what does he mean? themes.. of design, i concurrently admitted, because obviously a digital foundations class professor has no concern with any other facet of my life. after coming up with answers that semi-worked, i laughed to myself.. these "theme" answers were as relevant to my life as they were to the test. i guess my subconscious thoughts about what i learned this semester (life wise), translated in my answers.
here were the answers i came up with for learned themes:
1. it's okay to scrap good ideas for better ideas
2. don't hesitate to add/subtract things that you think might not work, because they might end up working
3. it's important to be detail oriented, but it's equally as important to be mindful of the big picture
4. maintain your level of quality from start to finish-- from coming up with ideas, to high resolution printing.
5. be proud of the work you put out because it represents you and everyone should be proud of themselves (i think*)
*yep, i put i think in quotation marks after my last statement. i really questioned whether or not i was proud of what i made in this class. following rules and doing as told never fosters representative pieces.
and in conclusion (of this post and what i've learned from college), life like creative works, requires a certain amount of balancing and revising..
and my life will be a masterpiece.
and he ended on this note. "i didn't really teach anything in this class, because i wanted you guys to figure it out on your own.. if anything, you should thank me. i'm preparing you for the rest of your life."
thank you cal state fullerton for all you have taught me about academia, about life, and about myself.
