sappy but happy

"happiness is a choice. so choose to be happy. don't be stupid."

life is what you make of it.

i've been working with the same group of kids for the past year or so at my after school academy, and despite the vast differences each child possesses, (whether it is attitude or strictly behavior), they all have one thing in common. one thing i cannot help but to be hopelessly jealous of.

they hold absolutely no records of wrongdoing

if they get in trouble and i put them in time out, they are upset with me beyond measure. but only for the reasonable, time being. and the next day when i see them, they are just as happy to see me as, just as excited to give me hugs, and just as open to loving me as before i had disciplined them. and this to me, is amazing.

i want to have a childlike attitude. i want to think only positively of those around me. i want to hold no records of wrongdoings. i want to realize that everything me is so ephemeral, that there is no point in being mad about something that will blow over in no time. i want to live without the worries of what will happen tomorrow.

i choose to be happy,
and so i am happy.
