positive addiction

i've always known that when you came into my life, and i to yours, it was to teach a lesson: about life, about love, and about ourselves. you stayed when we knew what we could get out of each other, but you left when our time expired. we knew our learning process had been mutually completed and our prior molds outgrown. henceforth, when you left, i let you go. not because i don't care, but because i understand. we were bound by good reason, to be with and without one another. now with this time apart, maybe we'll grow up, grow different, and become new. we might evolve into different versions of our prior selves, as familiar as they are foreign. maybe then, our cycle will continue and we'll have new things to teach each other, new things to share, and new things to laugh about. so with this momentary break of appearances in each other's lives, let's pray that our fates realign. let's bid adieu, promising that it's more of a see you later.
