"Be thankful for what you have and you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." -Oprah Winfrey
Simply, I don't count my blessings often. Here is a list of 5 blessings that I am extremely thankful for. PTL.
1. Cosmo, my car. Even though it's not much and it probably has like.. 10 horsepower or something.., I am thankful for transportation. I am thankful for having the ability to go where I want to go, be where I need to be by the time I need to be there, and for the convenience my car provides me. People don't realize how fucking inconvenient and difficult life would be without a car. Be thankful.
2. CSUF, a community university. At first, I absolutely dreaded the idea of having to stay at home instead of being able to move out like the rest of my friends. This was purely a blessing in disguise. My relationship with my family has gotten much better, and I am in the comforts of my own home. I love being a mama's girl and I love that I still get goodnight hugs.
3. Hi'Q, my horrid job. I hate working with my boss and I hate the fact that I am extremely underpaid for the amount of work I do, however I am thankful for income and lessons learned. What I have learned from this job is the important of patience, love, and kindness. I have worked with the same group of children, and I realize how important it is to be a good role model for them. I love that I can consider each of them as friends.
4. Good hair days and good skin days, because I honestly feel my best when I look my best. Whatever it is that sometimes makes my hair cooperate and my skin clear, is something that I am extremely thankful for. When I feel confident (or less self- conscious), I'm honestly in a much better mood. Is this superficial? I don't even care.. I'm a girl, it is what it is! I love my good hair and skin days!
5. Brandyn, my boyfriend. I'm not saying there isn't anything I wouldn't change about my relationship, or that I'm completely happy with the way it is, but I'm happy that I have someone that's willing to work on progressing forward with me. I'm thankful that I am treated respectfully, loved whole heartedly, and appreciated. This sounds really vague and casual, but it's honestly the biggest deal in the world to me. I am thankful that I have someone I can talk to about everything, someone that doesn't judge me for who I am, and someone that makes me feel like I'm worth a whole lot.
Funny thought: What you have may be exactly what someone else wants. What you want may be something someone else is still unhappy with. You'll never be happy with what you have unless you purposely make an effort to appreciate it. This is the truth.
